I'm sitting here crying. Like, really, really crying. And I'm trying to imagine how to put into words what God has done. And I realize that there is no way to do justice to all that He is. No way to "put it into words."
In 8 days I am moving to East Africa. God has called me to be a missionary and this is my first mission. To take care of babies in a small African country. To move halfway across the world to serve Him. And as you can imagine, this costs a lot. $6, 689 to be exact. And this is money that I, without a doubt, do not have. In fact, last week I had -$9.75 in my bank account. That's right, I had negative dollars. That was one week ago, and in the past week I have had to pay for immunizations, medication for malaria and medical insurance which totaled up to $1, 189. Now, I've never been good at math, but those numbers just don't add up.
Good thing we have this God.
Sometimes Jesus asks us to walk on water. To step out and trust Him even when it doesn't seem possible. Even if there's nothing to hold you up. This past week has been full of walk-on-water moments. But thankfully, it hasn't been scary. In fact, it's been beautiful. Because our God is not a God who is held back by money. No. He owns the universe. And our God is not a far-away God. He is not a God who leaves us or abandons us or forsakes us. He's a God who loves us and cares for us and provides for us. Yes- provides. I can definitely boast in that. Because in every single one of my walk-on-water moments, God has provided. Medical insurance, medication, immunizations? Paid for. Completely paid for, and get this- there is even some money left over. Because our God is a God who gives and gives abundantly. Who provides in ways we can never imagine.
So, no. I can't put into words what God has done, because He's done so much more than anyone could ever imagine. Oh, He's done so, so much more. He has provided down to the exact penny on the exact day.
How lucky we are to have a God like this.
My hear delights in serving You, LORD.
